How do you stop leather shoes (heels) from making a sqrinching ( or squeak ) noise when walking?

Brand new leather 2 inch heel shoes, closed toe, open heel though with a heel strap. I would want to wear with bare feet rather than stockings. They make a subtle but audible scrunching leather sound when walking. I love the style so want to keep them. Anybody have cures for noisy shoes??

Above all else, mink oil (or creme) works the very best on leather. Rub a generous amount prior to bed and let it soak in really well. In the morning buff to a soft gloss and repeat the next night for a few nights. They will be as quiet as a mime in church.
